Commitment to Good Government and Fiscal Responsibility

  • Sponsored an ordinance requiring fiscal notes for ordinances amending the municipal code
  • Sponsored an ordinance that provided more regulation for taxpayer funded overnight and air travel (council adopted compromise substitute)
  • Sponsored an ordinance to prohibit council members from using government property or resources to promote their financial interests
  • Led successful opposition to defeat proposed ordinance that would have limited the public’s First Amendment right to speak at council meetings
  • Opposed rate increases for Tammany Utilities (Cross Gates Water System)

Commitment to Transparency

  • Sponsored an ordinance requiring more clarity on agenda item titles to more easily identify the item subject to the public
  • Sponsored a Public Information Office ordinance to ensure the council was more able to distribute information to the public
  • Opposed a politically-charged and costly septic inspection ordinance that exempted the northern half of the parish, but applying onerous requirements to the south
  • Continued to lead the fight against lobbyists, special interests and big developers attempting to transform the parish council into a New Orleans-style model
  • Supported a resolution to support council ability to create Office of Inspector General

Public Safety Advocacy

  • Sponsored Resolution to urge and request State Officials to support an increase in the number of state warrants issued to the District Attorney’s Office for the 22nd Judicial District
  • Opposed 2026 Operating Budget over cuts to Public Safety
  • Worked with Pearl River Police Department to partner with ICE under the 287(g) program for illegal immigrants with active or pending criminal charges
  • Worked with St. Tammany Republican Parish Executive Committee to unanimously pass a resolution supporting law enforcement participation in the ICE 287(g) program
  • Worked with the Department of Engineering for speed control measures, requested additional traffic studies. Speed tables expected in Cross Gates and Magnolia Forest the first quarter of 2026
  • Voted for Library Board Appointments who and adopted policies to protect children and privacy rights

Growth and Development

  • Renewed two moratoriums to prevent high-density developments and ensure controlled growth
  • Sponsored an ordinance to rezone 173 acres of land east of I-59, west of the Pearl River, from Planned Unit Development to R-2 (3 acres per lot)
  • Sponsored an ordinance for waivers for fill for areas of special concern – add administrative waiver provision for properties which have experienced subsidence due to riverine flooding. (Cougle)
  • A leader in the successful effort to defeat the attempt to restore apartments as a permitted use under HC-2, which would have opened up over 450 properties to the possibility of apartments

Infrastructure Improvements

  • Voted to authorized acquisition of property for additional pond behind Ochsner to benefit Cross Gates drainage
  • Voted for millions in District 9 Road and Drainage funding in the 2026 Capital Budget –
    • Cross Gates Boulevard
    • West Thorner Road
    • Davis Landing Road
    • Oak Drive
    • Chris Kennedy Road
    • Magnolia Forest Subdivision Drainage
    • River Gardens Drainage
  • Partnered with Public Works on key drainage initiatives, including:
    • Voted to fund and supported the effort to bring a diversion canal behind Ochsner Hospital for the W-15
    • $2.2 million federal project for Davis Landing Canal providing safer access for hundreds of boaters and prevent further erosion to the area
    • Supported current drainage projects for

      • Murray Road Loop
      • Herwig Bluff
      • Rivercrest
      • Cross Gates Phase 2, Cross Gates Phase 4, Cross Gates Phase 5

    • Voted for funding for Tammany Trace connection to Heritage Park and for Camp Salmen Historic Lodge restoration

Community Engagement and Transparency

  • Held monthly community meetings to connect the northern and southern parts of the district
  • Regularly provides daily district updates via social media and promptly address constituent concerns through email, text and phone calls
  • Regularly attends Pearl River Town Hall meetings and works closely with the mayor and aldermen

Recreation and Community Recognition

  • Continued support for Recreation District 5 project to build a nature park on I-59 at the Pearl River Boat launch
  • Led the council to recognize the following organizations for their service to the community
    • Slidell Veterans of Foreign Wars
    • Slidell Ladies for Library
    • Community Christian Concern
    • Honey Island Swamp Museum and Research Center
  • Also recognized the following for their service to the community
    • Shady Pond Tree Farm
    • A Slidell area veteran serving overseas

Environmental and Property Management

  • Regularly worked with Code Enforcement to address violations and blighted properties
  • Partnered with the administration to replace lift station fences, such as the one next to Honey Island Elementary School

Awards and Honors

  • Earned the 2025 Pearl Williams Superior Leadership Award for Community Service from the East St. Tammany Republican Women’s Club
